The 1820 Presidential Election in Alabama

On November 25, 1820, Alabama's state legislature met in unison to choose three electors. Four candidates were placed into nomination:

• John Scott - 56 votes
• Henry Minor - 63 votes
• George W. Phillips - 63 votes
• James S. Walker - 31 votes

Scott, Minor, and Philips were thus elected, and would vote for the Republican candidates Monroe and Tompkins on December 6.
